Vacation
Bible School 2008, was
held June 30 through July 3 2008 VBS Topics and Theme The Main Theme: The theme
for these four days of Vacation Bible School was based on "Olympion,"
and the students were "in training" for a race of monumental importance
—the race for life— which they discussed in five
steps.
The
Race of Life
Step
1: In the beginning God made
people happy and holy.
Eccl
7:29 "...God made mankind
upright."
Step 2:
All people are weighed down by sin.
Rom
3:23 "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
Step
3: Sin brings death and judgement.
Eph 2:1 "As for you, you were
dead in your ...sins."
Step 4: Believe
in Jesus and turn from your sins.
Rom 5:8 "While we were still
sinners, Christ died for us." Acts 3:19 "Repent, then, and
turn to God so that your sins may be wiped out..." Step 5:
Receive God's free gift of eternal life.
Eph 2:8 "For it is
by grace you have been saved, through faith —and
this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—"
