Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in
mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as
though the day of Christ had come. Let
no one deceive you by any means; for that Day
will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is
revealed, the son of perdition,

servant says in his heart, 'My master is delaying his coming,' and begins to
beat the male and female servants, and to eat and drink and be drunk, 46
"the master of that servant will come on a day
when he is not looking for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and
will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.

accompanied with urgent exhortations to watchfulness and eager expectation.
9. The Bible’s teaching on Christ’s return presents a
fearful prospect for the wicked, for those not trusting now in Christ as their
Lord and Savior.
